During late June and early July of 2001 Sue and I traveled to New Zealand, where I presented and attended an educator's conference in Auckland. Before and after the conference we spent our time traveling around the north half of the north island. From Auckland we drove south to see the glow worms; the thermal areas; smelled Rotorua; attended a Maori banquet' saw the world's largest kiwi; and drove north with our host Eric and his wife to the Bay of Islands; part way up the 99 mile beach toward Cape Rienga; saw the giant Kauri trees; and the Tasman Sea.
